I Heart Brunch
Me at Bubby's Meatpacking on Gansevoort |
Brunch is the weekend reward for a week of hard work. New York is home to some of the world’s best places to eat. Foodies alike come to New York to try the city’s best brunch spots. Here is a list of some of my favourite spots to get brunch in New York.
Bubby’s
Bubby's Famous Biscuits |
If you’re in the mood for amazing biscuits look no further than Bubby’s. This New York hotspot is a brunch staple. Voted the best brunch many times, this is not somewhere to sleep on.
Huevos Rancheros at Bubby's |
They are best known for their delicious fried chicken and James Beard award winning pancakes. My personal recommendation is the huevos rancheros which packs great flavour and bit of heat. With two locations in Tribeca and the Meatpacking District, Bubby’s should be on the top of your brunch list.
Jack's Wife Freda
Jack's Wife Freda Soho on Layfayette |
One of the most iconic brunch spots in New York, Jack’s Wife Freda is a must to check out. Jack’s Wife Freda has three locations in the West Village, Chelsea and Soho. This restaurant has become very famous thanks to many instagram posts of brunch favourites. The menu is filled with a number of favourites including their green shakshuka. This eclectic twist on the classic middle eastern baked egg dish, is part of why Jack's Wife Freda is so popular.
Maya's Breakfast Bowl and Green Shashuka at Jack's Wife Freda |
My favourite dish is their Maya’s breakfast bowl, filled with amazing vegetables, quinoa, and eggs either scrambled or poached. Also, to note is their yummy green hot sauce which has people lining up early every weekend. I recommend putting Jack’s Wife Freda on your brunch bucket list.
Sadelle's
Sadelle's on West Broadway |
I’m going to say something controversial, Sadelle's has the best bagels in New York. In a city known for its bagels, Sadelle’s takes the cake. They are best known for their house made bagels and smoked salmon. No wonder this place is so popular. When you walk in the fresh bagels create an amazing aroma through the whole restaurant.
Sadelle’s has been time and time again voted the best brunch in New York. I recommend getting the smoked salmon tower, which is the best smoked salmon I have ever had. Head down to Soho and grab a bagel. Don't forget dessert, I recommend their sinfully delicious stick buns.
