I Heart New York Fashion Week

Since I was little I have had a passion for fashion. This passion was sparked when I first went to New York. New York has become the centre of the fashion universe. New York is the home to many of the world’s best designers. New York fashion week has become much more than a week of fashion shows. The fashion community gather from all over the world, to celebrate the best of New York. This week highlights the best elements that draw people this wonderful city. Fashion week is a celebration of the greatest city on earth and all the amazing things it’s has to offer.

One of my favourite shows this season was Brandon Maxwell. Maxwell is a CFDA award winning designer, stylist and Project Runway judge. He has dressed some of the worlds most powerful women including Michelle Obama, Oprah and Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle. Maxwell designs his collections for strong women and matches his silhouettes accordingly. For Spring 2020, Maxwell created essential pieces for the New York woman's daily wardrobe. From perfectly tailored blazers to amazing denim and shorts. He also surprised his audience by introducing his mens wear collection. This collection proved that Maxwell is fashion's rising star.

Wayan: New York City's Most Delicious Hotspot

New York fashion week is also a celebration of the best the city has to offer. One of the city’s hottest new restaurants is Wayan. Opened earlier this year, Wayan is a modern fusion of Indonesian and French cuisine. This hot spot is the brain child of Indonesian entrepreneur  Ezra Williams and Chef Cedric Vongerichten. Vongerichten is the son of famed chef Jean-George. Wayan is Balinese for first born which is fitting since this is Vongerichten’s first venture without his father. I had the privilege of eating at Wayan earlier this summer. Someone of my personal favourites were the lobster noodles and tamarin glazed baby back ribs. Wayan is a must to check out .
